I am Jack Hyom, a 22-year-old Multimedia Journalism graduate who has big aspirations in the media industry, and welcome to the digital collaboration of all the work I have produced to develop my skills over the past few years.
After studying a whole host of media related courses at school and sixth form college, I decided to pursue my passion for journalism at Bournemouth University. As well as being Sports Editor of the student magazine, Nerve, for two years and presenting my own award-winning radio show, the Sports Hour, I capped off my degree by achieving first class honours.
During my education, I gained professional experience with Sky News, the Daily Express, the MCC at Lord’s Cricket Ground and two regional newspapers. Since then, I have launched & edited online magazine Column 10 from May to September 2011 with professional footballer Rohan Ricketts before working as a systems operator for Hawk-Eye Innovations. With Hawk-Eye, I worked at major Tennis & Snooker events worldwide, culminating in operating the official review system for the Basketball at the London 2012 Olympics.
Since August 2012, I have been working at the Premier League as a Digital Operations Assistant. I work alongside members of the editorial, communications and commercial departments to contribute to the official website of the most-watched league in world football. In my role, I use the website’s content management system extensively, edit various sections of the website, write and research for numerous articles and features, source and edit images for the website and edit the weekly ‘Back of the Net’ newsletter.
Enjoy my website, and I appreciate any feedback you may have!
